Die Maximallänge einer Reihe ist so auf sechs Steine begrenzt.

Once hands are dealt, have everybody count up how many of their tiles share either a shape or a color.

Disregard duplicates for this count for instance, if you have 2 blue square tiles you should only count 1 of them. Whoever has the most tiles of a kind goes first.

In case of a tie, the eldest player takes the priority. The first player must play those tiles to start the board as their first turn. Each turn builds off the first line put down by the first player, eventually turning the gaming surface into a sprawling network of colors and shapes.

As far as packaging is concerned, Qwirkle does come in a more traditional box as shown in the picture , but it also has a pouch for the tiles, adding a level of convenience in storing and transporting the game that pleasantly surprised me.

I think Qwirkle would be a fantastic game to take to the cottage, or to a friend's house, or virtually anywhere you have access to a flat surface.

The game itself arrived in great shape, so no complaints there. I also appreciate that the tiles appear to be of good quality and feel durable.

I would recommend Qwirkle as a worthwhile addition to any game collection. It's also a great game to bust out with your friends who may not be fans of more traditional style board games, as it requires virtually no set-up and very little instruction for first-time players.

As an added bonus, because the gameplay and rules are so basic not a bad thing , we were able to "customize" this game by adding invented rules.

This helped shake things up a bit, and greatly improves the replayability. Our 3-and-a-half year old loves board games. She is a spirited child detail orientated, analytical, etc.

She asks so many questions about rules and morality that we often have to remind her that she is a kid and she should have fun. She notices the smallest details.

Now, we have modified some of the rules based on her requests. For example, our daughter likes to trade tiles with Mom and Dad's hands.

We let her do that because she has a preference for anything blue. She does not have a preferred shape, but other than trading us tiles for our blue ones, she plays by all the other rules in the game.

On a few occasions, she pointed out that Mom and Dad had made mistakes e. We noticed she had an interest in board games early on, but we did not want to push her into something that may be too challenging.

She loved memory and matching games with playing cards. Next, we played "Go Fish. She really liked cooperative games, but she also liked competitive games, so we were looking for something competitive that would appeal to her traits Qwirkle is perfect for our daughter.

She taught Grandma how to play it. She even likes saying the word "Qwirkle. That last part is important because try as we might as parents to show interest in some games, we think kids sense that their parents are not really invested in some "children's games.

I love this game! I tried it at a family function and loved it right away. I would say it's somewhat of a cross between Scrabble and Uno. It's very easy to understand and after the first few rounds everyone is completely absorbed by it.

It is easy enough that kids can play it, but when playing with adults it can get very competitive. I bought one for myself and another for my in-laws.

At first they thought it was a fun little game but as time progressed my mother-in-law got seriously into the game and is now really obsessed with it haha more so obsessed with winning.

I definitely recommend it! See all reviews. Top reviews from other countries. Let me preface this review by saying that I love the game itself, the mechanics of how the game plays.

I have been playing Qwirkle with my family for a long time now. I decided to purchase another copy in the hopes that I can combine two sets, in order to play games with more than 4 players I have played games with one set and 5 players but, it doesn't work very well in terms of the flow of the game and total number of tiles split 5 ways.

All you need to play is the official Qwirkle set, which includes tiles. The standard Qwirkle instructions are provided below.

Each Qwirkle set comes with square-shaped tiles. The tiles have a black background, and have a shape printed onto each tile. Each tile is differentiated by their shape and color.

Altogether, there are 6 shapes and 6 colors. At the start of the game, all tiles are placed in an opaque bag, obscuring them from view, as influenced by Scrabble.

Each player takes a seat on one end of the table. The tiles begin the game in a bag, obscured from view. Each player draws 6 tiles each.
